Be Fearless; Step Up and Play Big

Commitment

The fifth in the 6-part series: Be Fearless; Step up and Play Big

The level of commitment needed can best be described in a quote that dates back to the 1500’s - “Burn the Boats!” A great warrior, after his army landed on the shores of his enemy’s land ordered that all of the boats be burnt thereby eliminating any possibility of retreat or turning back. They now had no choice and loosing was no longer an option. He let his army know that the only way they could leave was to win…and win they did!

True commitment means you must develop a no turning back attitude. You must give up on all of the old habits or comfort zones that have shielded you from being a success; you have to unlearn those habits and replace them with new ones that allow you to step up and achieve your full capabilities. You must learn to be “comfortable with feeling uncomfortable”.

To be successful you’ve got to have a vision and a burning passion. You’ve got to want something, and you’ve got to want it bad. That’s what commitment is all about.  It takes commitment and a willingness to go the extra mile in order to achieve your goal. When you have this deep commitment, you’re no longer working. You no longer have a job. You’re doing something you love. You’re having fun.
